The 2021 BMC Teammachine

It's a strange feeling to see so many superbike launches come and go without cycling's biggest platform to help them along. BMC are not letting the delay of a traditional Grande Boucle stop them though, with the release of their latest Teammachine.⠀

Fitting comfortably into the – now swiftly growing – category of ‘aero all-rounder’, the 2021 Teammachine, like other climbing bikes before it, is adopting the svelte shapes and integrations of its aero specific siblings. For most, that makes perfect sense. We don't have a quiver of bikes at our disposal for the terrain of the day, so why not have one bike that offers the best combination traits? The clichéd metrics of stiffness, weight and aerodynamics are converging like cyclists on cake.⠀

The new Teammachine adapts the supremely clean cockpit from its predecessor, dropping weight as well as improving its aero credentials. The new Integrated Cockpit System (ICS) comes in at just 305g, making it one of the lightest integrated systems on the market. Other notable aero touches have been adopted from BMC's Timemachine platform, like the integrated bottle cages, which are guaranteed to match, in case you were concerned, as well as the revised downtube and fork.

The new Teammachine also accommodates wider tyres, with room for 30mm rubber, a move that's sure to get the attention of those seeking the Holy Grail of an armchair-like ride coupled with performance.⠀

We're also delighted by the range of colours on offer, with some tasty combinations across the sizeable range. All hail the BMC Teammachine, a born winner.
